Some people have been asking me why I’m moving from flash to unity so I wanted to make a post talking about it.
As I mentioned, the Ashi animation I made is only a sample but, here are a couple of improvements I can list with using unity instead of flash.
1. File size has dropped 100%! A simple animation like this would end up being minimum 60mb but now because it was made in unity/live2d it was only 6mb!
2. Animating might be a lot harder than in flash or AE but the end result is simply better because of the amount of control I have! No more do I have to wonder whether the game will end up too big just because I decide to add an extra expression!
3. It just looks better. I’m still really new to this but, I’m 100% certain I will get even better in the future thanks to the amount of control I have.
4.Flash is dying... Sadly I wasn’t born 10 years earlier so I can enjoy the golden age of flash but not much you can do about that. I have to accept that the times are changing and we have to improve and evolve.
5.Compatible with more devices! I can pretty much export my future games to android web and pc without any problems.
These are just a couple of the reasons why Unity and Live2d are be better. Hopefully you’ll notice the rest in the future yourself.

well heres hoping google doesnt succeed in killing unity. they already killed it in chrome from what ive read, and the other major browsers have been having problems with unity as well. so good luck and keep making great stuff!
